Escala de colores extendida del Índice UV para valores superiores a 11

Abstract

Se presenta el código de colores extendido empleado en los mapas de Índice UV (IUV) del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional Argentino, indicador del nivel de riesgo por sobre-exposición al sol. El mismo complementa el código de colores oficial definido por la Organización Mundial de la Salud, resolviendo la necesidad de diferenciar niveles en valores numéricos de IUV superiores a 11 que durante gran parte del año se registran en Argentina.

The extended color code used in the UV Index (UVI) maps of the Argentine National Meteorological Service is presented, an indicator of the level of risk due to over-exposure to the sun. This code complements the official color code defined by the World Health Organization, resolving the need to differentiate levels in numerical UVI values higher than 11 that are recorded in Argentina for much of the year.
